So, Grand Slam tennis is back! But obviously, everything has changed. The field will be seriously depleted, those who do play haven't played much tennis at all this year, there'll be no crowd support, there'll be wildly varying different levels of fitness, and of course, some players have themselves been infected by the coronavirus.
The continued threat from Covid-19 also looms large, with the possibility of (I think?) forced withdrawals if a player tests positive, or perhaps even the cancellation of the entire event if there's a large outbreak. Should be a fun fortnight!
Here's to an interesting couple of weeks!
Andy Murray in action today. He's playing Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka and after losing the first 2 sets 6-4 he fought back to win the next 2 on tie-breaks and has just won the 1st game of the final set. It would be some comeback for Murray, metal hip and all, if he was to win this game from two sets down.
