Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition
You are Geralt of Rivia, the mercenary monster slayer. Before you stand a war-torn, monster-infested continent you can explore at will. Your current contract? Tracking down Ciri — the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.

Updated to the latest version, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comes with new features and items, including a built-in Photo Mode, swords, armour, and alternate outfits inspired by The Witcher Netflix series — and more!

Behold the dark fantasy world of the Continent like never before! This edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been enhanced with numerous visual and technical improvements, including a vastly improved level of detail, a range of community-created and newly developed mods for the game, real-time ray tracing, and more — all implemented with the power of modern PCs in mind.

Trained from early childhood and mutated to gain superhuman skills, strength, and reflexes, witchers are a counterbalance to the monster-infested world in which they live.
  • Gruesomely destroy foes as a professional monster hunter armed with a range of upgradeable weapons, mutating potions, and combat magic.
  • Hunt down a wide variety of exotic monsters, from savage beasts prowling mountain passes to cunning supernatural predators lurking in the shadowy back alleys of densely populated cities.
  • Invest your rewards to upgrade your weaponry and buy custom armour, or spend them on horse races, card games, fist fighting, and other pleasures life brings.
Built for endless adventure, the massive open world of The Witcher sets new standards in terms of size, depth, and complexity.
  • Traverse a fantastical open world: explore forgotten ruins, caves, and shipwrecks, trade with merchants and dwarven smiths in cities, and hunt across the open plains, mountains, and seas.
  • Deal with treasonous generals, devious witches, and corrupt royalty to provide dark and dangerous services.
  • Make choices that go beyond good & evil, and face their far-reaching consequences.
Take on the most important contract of your life: to track down the child of prophecy, the key to saving or destroying this world.
  • In times of war, chase down the child of prophecy, a living weapon foretold by ancient elven legends.
  • Struggle against ferocious rulers, spirits of the wilds, and even a threat from beyond the veil – all hell-bent on controlling this world.
  • Define your destiny in a world that may not be worth saving.

The Witcher 3 is getting a next-gen update on December 14, free for all owners of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

In terms of what's actually being tweaked, the game will be receiving "dozens" of boosts to visuals, performance, faster loading times, and technical improvements. It'll also be getting Ray-tracing support, and a variety of mods integrated fully into the game. In short, it's set to be the best-running, prettiest-looking The Witcher 3 version on consoles.

For those interested in the series off the back of The Witcher Netflix show, the game will also be receiving new content inspired by said series. We've no word as to what that'll be exactly, but a stream planned next week on the CD Projekt Red Twitch channel will apparently reveal more.

For those without a next-generation console, several improvements are also planned for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of The Witcher 3, as well as the Netflix Witcher-themed content. However, as of writing, there is no release date for that update.

The update will feature 4K textures and models, ray-tracing, improved gameplay, a 60 frames per second mode, cloud saves, Photo Mode, and new content inspired by Netflix's The Witcher series.

The new quest is actually fantastic. Pleasantly surprised by it and how well the incorporated the armour from the tv show into the game.

One of the greatest expansions of all time.

Both of them are.

CDPR really did an amazing job with this game and the DLC package was so fairly priced too

I need to put some hours into this game. I haven't played it since the initial release. Maybe time to play again since the next-gen update.

Yeah, Hearts of Stone is what I would call as DLC but Blood and Wine is like a whole new game altogether.

There's so much content in Blood and Wine it's amazing.

I've just started playing the upgrade. I never quite understood what all the fuss was about before but I'm hooked now!!

Not done too much so far, still in White Orchard but there's so much to do and see. I rushed headlong to the griffin the first few times but this time I'm working up to it. Much better.

I still don't like the controls and the feel of the combat but as others have said, that's not what it's about I guess. The best open-world games invite you to explore and this is great for that.

I've played over 800 hours over the years! Safe to say it's one of my all-time favourite games. DLCs included.
