This intriguing game offers a unique blend of nostalgia and innovation, reminiscent of what Alan Wake might have been if it had been crafted for the PS1 back in the '90s.

Silver Pines is a pixelated 2D survival horror game that draws inspiration from classics like Silent Hill and The Secret of Monkey Island. The first hour of gameplay immerses players in a creepy narrative filled with unsettling visuals and eerie soundscapes that heighten the tension as you navigate through darkened hallways.

The game feels like an episode of The X-Files or Twin Peaks, wrapped in the nostalgic charm of a point-and-click puzzle game. For fans of the original Resident Evil or Silent Hill, this title offers a familiar yet fresh experience. Players will find themselves fleeing from grotesque creatures, scavenging for supplies, and confronting unspeakable horrors.

The Steam store page has shed light on the development process employed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog. It appears that the studios have utilised generative AI tools during the early stages of the game's creation. According to the AI-generated content disclosure section, these AI-assisted tools were primarily used for "early exploration" and "temporary development" content.

The developers have reassured fans that any AI-generated assets from these initial phases have been either replaced or refined by skilled human artists. They stated, "AI-assisted tools were used during development to support some early exploration and temporary development content. Any AI-assisted assets were either replaced or refined by humans to maintain the creative and artistic vision of the development team."

While the specifics of what content was generated using AI remain unclear, it seems that these tools were mainly involved in the rapid prototyping phase, likely helping to shape level layouts and other foundational elements of the game. Reactions to this news have been mixed within the gaming community. On platforms like the Tomb Raider subreddit, some users have expressed concerns about the use of generative AI, while others have noted that its application in the early stages of development is a reasonable approach.

Interestingly, some discussions suggest that the decision to incorporate AI tools may have been influenced more by corporate mandates than by the developers' preferences.

In terms of release information, initially set for a 2026 launch, the game has now been postponed to February 10, 2027. While the studio has not provided extensive details on this delay, it's speculated that it was a strategic move to avoid competing with the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, 2026.

The announcement of the new release date was accompanied by a new gameplay trailer. This showcased Lara Croft navigating snowy mountains in Peru, engaging in combat, and tackling platforming challenges. The trailer culminates in an exhilarating chase sequence featuring a T-Rex, highlighting Lara's agility and resourcefulness as she escapes a collapsing structure.

The latest trailer just dropped. It's packed with some insights into the game's combat system and progression mechanics.

In this new showcase, we get a closer look at Lara Croft in action. She's as agile as ever, and her aim with those iconic dual pistols is simply spot-on. She's got a variety of weapons at her disposal, including an SMG. It seems like there will be plenty of options to mix things up!

Most interesting is the addition of a Focus bar, which fills up when you take/dish out damage or avoid it altogether, allowing you to slow down time and get a few well-placed shots at the right moments.

The upcoming DLC for Mafia: The Old Country, titled "Man of Honor," is set to launch on August 14th, and it looks like it's packed with new content!

Design director Josh Zammit recently gave a sneak peek into what players can expect when teaming up with Ennio Salieri, a character many will remember as the antagonist from the first Mafia game. In this DLC, players will join forces with Enzo Favara to "settle old scores," which sounds like it's going to be quite the adventure!

Here are some highlights of what's included in the DLC:

New Gameplay Features:
  • Assassination targets: Players will have new targets to eliminate, adding to the thrill of the game.
  • Races: Get ready to rev your engines and partake in some high-speed races!
  • Jobs: New missions called Jobs will have players infiltrating a citrus farm to take down rival whiskey runners, among other tasks.
  • Challenges: Salieri will offer challenges in Free Ride Mode, which promise to amp up the difficulty for even the most skilled players.
  • Rewards: Earn Dinari to spend on new vehicles, weapons (like the pump-handle shotgun and Precisione Speciale rifle), Charms, horses, and outfits.
  • New throwing knife: The Rimbalzu, which can ricochet off targets to take down multiple enemies, adds a fun twist to combat.
  • Additional activities: Collect Wanted Posters, complete Stunt Jumps, and destroy delivery trucks for extra fun!

A year and a week after the original release, the highly anticipated DLC, "Man of Honor," for Mafia: The Old Country is finally here! You can grab it now on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.

Now, before you dive in, it's important to note that "Man of Honor" isn't a direct continuation of the main storyline. Instead, it offers a side adventure featuring our protagonist, Enzo Favara, who has been tasked with a critical mission by none other than Ennio Salieri, the notorious Don from the original Mafia game. While details about Salieri's ultimate goals remain a mystery, players can expect to engage in two new chapters filled with various Jobs and Challenges.

Both chapters are accessible in Free Ride Mode, where you can take on exciting tasks like races and assassinations. If you perform well, there are some fantastic rewards waiting for you, including five new Charms, three guns, and three knives - one of which has a rather amusing feature of bouncing off a target's head!

But that's not all! The DLC also introduces three new vehicles, two new horses, three outfits, and five hats. It seems that crime in Valle Dorata really does pay off!

Activision has released a short but sweet gameplay trailer for the campaign mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. This trailer gives us our first look at the Losing Ground mission that will be available in Early Access.

Players will follow a young squad of South Korean soldiers as they fight to survive on the front lines. At the same time, Captain Price carries out a personal mission from the shadows while staying one step ahead of those hunting him. As his mission crosses paths with the forces behind the invasion, the conflict grows even larger.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 aims to take the series into darker territory. The story focuses on the cost of war and brings several long-running storylines to a dramatic conclusion.

The campaign takes players to many locations around the world. You will fight in the trenches of Korea, battle through the streets of New York, race across Paris, join SAS night raids in Mumbai, and help reclaim occupied cities.

For the first time in franchise history, players will have the opportunity to dive into a campaign mission during the beta phase! This is a significant shift for the series, which has traditionally kept campaign content separate from beta testing.

Activision has recently unveiled a wealth of details about the beta, which is set to kick off this Friday. The official Call of Duty X account shared a comprehensive image outlining all the content that players can expect to access. It looks like there's a lot more to explore than many of us anticipated!

Alongside the aforementioned campaign mission, the first weekend includes five 6v6 multiplayer maps: Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, and Lotus. On those maps, you can expect Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search & Destroy, as well as the new and yet-unrevealed Inflation game mode. The recently revealed Kill Block mode is part of the first session in both its 3v3 and 10v10 variants, too.

Luckily for players who don't want to pre-order to play the early-access portion of the beta, the open portion is more exciting, as it includes new content on top of what's available in the first weekend. The second takes place 28th August - 1st September on the same platforms, now with the addition of Nintendo Switch 2 - another first for Call of Duty.

The chief addition in terms of what's playable is Warzone's upcoming Resurgence map Zodiac, which has been teased but never officially detailed. It's still not clear whether the updated version of the free-to-play battle royale mode launches alongside Modern Warfare 4 in October or later in the year.

This beta is shaping up to be a unique experience, blending the thrill of multiplayer with a taste of the campaign.

If you're as excited about the upcoming release of EA Sports NHL 27, you'll be thrilled to hear about the latest updates on its Connected Franchise Mode. This feature is making a comeback after its last appearance in the 2014 edition, and it's shaping up to be a game-changer!

The recent deep dive into this mode has really ramped up the anticipation. One of the first things that catches the eye is the user interface. It's designed to be straightforward and intuitive, which is fantastic for both newcomers and seasoned players. You'll have the flexibility to manage league sizes ranging from just three teams to a whopping thirty-two user-operated teams!

But that's not all! You can step into the role of a commissioner or join a league as a manager. The customisation options are impressive too. You can tweak various factors in custom leagues, including season lengths, playoff formats, scoring systems, and salary caps. Plus, there are some exciting changes to the free agency process that should add depth to the gameplay.

Overall, it looks like EA Sports has put a fresh spin on a beloved feature, blending nostalgia with modern conveniences.

Electronic Arts has shared some details about the Ultimate Team mode. In a comprehensive deep dive, they've introduced a variety of new features that are sure to enhance our gaming experience.

One of the standout additions is the FUT Gallery, which is designed to help players track their achievements in the game mode. This feature allows you to create a record of Player Items that have passed through your club, serving not just as a record-keeping tool, but also as a way to earn rewards through new progression paths. The Gallery Sets focus on themes such as Nations, Leagues, Clubs, and Campaigns. Completing these sets will earn you a grade based on the quality of the items you include, with higher OVR and special versions contributing more significantly. Better grades lead to better rewards, and each completed set boosts your overall Gallery level, unlocking cosmetics, Gallery Tokens, and more.

The FUT Gallery will be a visually appealing space, featuring 3D objects that accumulate over time, allowing players to reflect on their journey and accomplishments within the game.

In addition to the Gallery, EA Sports FC 27 is revamping the Squad Building Challenges (SBCs). The new approach aims to streamline the process, making it quicker to complete certain SBC types, such as Player and Upgrade SBCs. EA emphasises that while they want to reduce repetitive tasks, they're not removing meaningful decisions from the gameplay. Players will now be able to select eligible items from their Club without the constraints of Chemistry or position requirements, contributing to a score based on overall rating and rarity, similar to the FUT Gallery scoring system.

Moreover, the game will introduce more player choices and improved planning tools with the Pathways feature in Evolutions. This means players can explore multiple options for improving their players, such as enhancing dribbling or defensive ratings, rather than being locked into a single path.

To keep players informed, EA Sports FC 27 will also feature a Campaign Hub, where you can check out upcoming events, objectives, SBCs, and Live Events. This new hub will help players stay engaged and plan their strategies effectively.

Overall, these updates promise to make EA Sports FC 27's Ultimate Team mode more engaging and rewarding. The combination of the FUT Gallery, streamlined SBCs, and enhanced player choices is sure to elevate the gameplay experience for all football fans.

The latest updates on Career Mode have certainly caught fans attention! Following a recent gameplay deep dive, the developers have shared some intriguing changes that promise to enhance our gaming experience.

One of the most notable updates is the new OVR (Overall Rating) system. This means that player ratings will now fluctuate between matches, adding a layer of realism and strategy to team management. Coaches will need to consider various factors to ensure that every player is performing at their best, making each match feel unique.

Additionally, the Transfers aspect of Career Mode has received a significant overhaul. Players will need to navigate a more complex system, taking multiple factors into account when making deals. This change is expected to create a more immersive and challenging gameplay loop, which many fans will surely appreciate.

Teammate behaviour has also seen improvements, which should lead to a more cohesive team dynamic on the pitch. And for those looking to spice things up, the introduction of custom challenges is particularly exciting! This feature allows players to create their own unique scenarios, enabling us to challenge friends in creative and high-stakes situations.

Now, I give EA some credit I suppose for trying something new with this open world rubbish. However, I'd have appreciated if the "trying something new" would have gone into actually upgrading the football - you know, the thing that people buy the game to play.

Yeah, trying new things shouldn't be frowned upon - the execution and whole point is shocking, but games should at least try new things - I'd just rather they tried new things with the actual football game.

That's the problem with FIFA, its been the exact same game for about 8 years.

It's hard to shake the feeling of intensity when diving into the world of "Hell Let Loose: Vietnam." Picture this: you're on Thanh Hoa Bridge, and amidst the chaos, you've got a potential enemy pinned down inside a shack. You stake your position at the door frame, holding your breath, waiting for him to make a move. Just as you're ready to strike, out of nowhere comes his squadmate, and before you know it, you're back to square one, staring at the respawn screen for what feels like the umpteenth time.

A Realistic Battlefield Experience
What really stands out about this game is its commitment to realism. It's not just about shooting; it's about strategy, teamwork, and making split-second decisions that can turn the tide of battle. The 50v50 format means every player counts, and there's no room for lone wolves. You need to work closely with your teammates, coordinating attacks and defending positions in a way that feels authentic to the chaos of war.

Key Features to Note
Here are some aspects that really caught my attention during the preview:
  • The level of detail in the environments is impressive, from lush jungles to gritty urban settings.
  • Each class has a distinct role, encouraging players to specialise and collaborate.
  • The sound design is immersive, pulling you deeper into the action with every gunshot and explosion.
It's a game that doesn't shy away from the harsh realities of combat, which might not be for everyone, but for those who relish a challenge, it's incredibly rewarding.

The preview below of "Hell Let Loose: Vietnam" gives us a glimpse into a hardcore military simulation that emphasises strategy and teamwork over casual play. If you're looking for a game that offers a true battlefield experience with high stakes, this could be right up your alley.

The reviews are very positive

CGMagazine (8/10)
"Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is an okay Hell Let Loose game, but a superb Vietnam FPS. It's not an improvement on the original, but a decent lateral move that dives headlong into the action."

DualShockers (8/10)
"After multiple tours, I'm in love with Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. A love that occasionally is blind to the historical inaccuracies, but is also willing to live with them because, based on what we have today, this is the best Vietnam War shooter I've played since the glory days of Vietcong in 2003."

GamesRadar+ (8/10)
"While Hell Let Loose: Vietnam's very nature fights against making its battles a streamlined experience like Battlefield 6, they're nevertheless deeply involving. Each death packs a greater impact, each kill a stronger sense of victory. Just hope that the squad you join have decent microphones."

PCGamesN (8/10)
"Not one for the faint of heart, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a challenging FPS game that demands total teamwork at a minimum. Those who can get past a steep learning curve will find a lot to love here; it's a beautifully brutal game with a sky-high skill ceiling."

Dexerto (8/10)
"Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a tough but extremely rewarding shooter that's an utter blast when played as a team."

Gamereactor UK (7/10)
"Simply put, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a complicated and rather hardcore shooter experience. This will either be the perfect shooter for you or it'll be your worst nightmare - there really isn't a middle-ground for this game. Regardless, love it or hate it, Expression has created a title with punchy and pleasing gunplay, detailed and vibrant graphics, and a multitude of gameplay options tied to the different modes and classes. The only question is whether you'll have the commitment and patience to learn the intricacies of the game before searching for something less demanding."

Gfinity (7/10)
"By welcoming new players with an extensive tutorial section, sticking to its tactical theme, and providing a good role distribution, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam creates an immersive experience and a good time for casuals and tryhards alike. It could use a bit more love and creativity on the gameplay side, but it stands as a great option for players looking for a large-scale shooter that rewards teamwork, and it's not afraid of sticking to its realism, ignoring most tendencies from popular arcade shooters."
