Lavrov has poured scorn on talk of Euro troops doing anything.

"Russia ruled out any deployment of European peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, with Lavrov pointedly saying it would be "completely unacceptable" as he called Nato's expansion eastwards "a direct threat to the Russian Federation"

But obviously, Russian troops in Ukraine is perfectly acceptable.

"The State Dept readout lists the following points as the results of the meeting in Riyadh:
  • Establish a consultation mechanism to address irritants to our bilateral relationship with the objective of taking steps necessary to normalize the operation of our respective diplomatic missions.
  • Appoint respective high-level teams to begin working on a path to ending the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible in a way that is enduring, sustainable, and acceptable to all sides.
  • Lay the groundwork for future cooperation on matters of mutual geopolitical interest and historic economic and investment opportunities which will emerge from a successful end to the conflict in Ukraine.
The parties to today's meetings pledge to remain engaged to make sure the process moves forward in a timely and productive manner."

President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that Ukraine was responsible for Russia's invasion of the country three years ago, arguing Kyiv could have made a deal to avoid the conflict.

"I think I have the power to end this war, and I think it's going very well. But today I heard, 'Oh, well, we weren't invited.' Well, you've been there for three years," Trump told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort. "You should have never started it. You could have made a deal."

Trump put the boot in thus: "Today I heard 'oh well, we weren't invited'. Well, you've been there for three years. You should have ended it. You should never have started it."

Seriously, Ukraine shouldn't have started the war? He is absolute scum. This is becoming the absolute worst case scenario and even beyond the negative expectations many thought possible. Europe has to figure out something quick.

He genuinely believes bigger states can use war for territorial gain and if you fight back that you are the problem.

He's an imperialist in geo-politics
He's a mercantilist in economics.

All the problems we thought were suppressed now sit in the White House.

It's mad to think that Russia invaded another sovereign country and the President of the US is now placing blame on the country which has been invaded.

What I find even more baffling is that Russia has been able to hold such strong bargaining power despite being shown as being pretty weak in a military sense. It makes me wonder and distrust America even more.

Trump's team allegedly has offered Putin
  • Ukrainian territory
  • no NATO membership for Ukraine
  • no US soldiers in Ukraine
  • the withdrawal of US soldiers from Europe, including from frontline states
  • sanctions relief.
Putin's return offer -- nothing.

And if there are elections in Ukraine right now they will be rigged and Putin will have another puppet in place.

Lost for words, his words could have come straight out of the mouth of Putin.

While I try to remain level-headed, it's hard not to feel that the MAGA movement has done serious harm to the whole world.

This is critical, Trump's comments are directly saying that a larger power invading a small state is legal and valid. He blames Ukraine for resisting because he believes it's the natural order for the smaller state to be dominated.

Trump's mindset - Russia invades (legal and within their right as a powerful state), Ukraine being invaded (should automatically concede all demands), Resistance by Ukraine (an affront to natural order and thus was the cause of the war).

He just keeps spouting shit. Putin must be laughing his socks off.

Trump is on another rant on his Lies platform.

From Sky News.

Trump takes swipe at Zelensky's leadership

Donald Trump has called Volodymyr Zelenskyy a "dictator" in a scathing post on Truth Social.

The US president said his Ukrainian counterpart had done a "terrible job" and that he "better move fast or he is not going to have a country left".

"I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues..." he posted.

He said Zelenskyy, who he labelled a "modestly successful comedian", had talked America into spending $350bn to "go into a war that couldn't be won".

"He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden 'like a fiddle'," he added.

"A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left."

Trump said the US was "successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia" in the meantime, something that "all admit" only his administration can achieve.

Meanwhile, US envoy Keith Kellogg is in Kyiv telling the Ukrainians they can count on US support.

Speaking in a news conference earlier, the Ukrainian leader said.

"With all due respect to President Donald Trump as a leader....he is living in this disinformation space"

"As we are talking about 4%, we have seen this disinformation, we understand it's coming from Russia," he adds.

Zelenskyy also dismisses the claims about his approval ratings being at 4% as Russian disinformation and says attempts to replace him during the war against Russia would not work. It should be noted Zelenskyy's rating is in fact around 50%, which is similar to Trump's.

I'll say one thing for Zelenskyy, he's shown more backbone calling out Trump today than any other European leader has so far.

The US is opposing calling Russia the aggressor in a G7 statement on the third anniversary of Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The US is opposing calling Russia the aggressor in a G7 statement on the third anniversary of Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, threatening to derail a traditional show of unity, according to five western officials familiar with the matter.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's participation at a virtual G7 summit on Monday has also not yet been agreed, the officials said.

The disagreement comes after US President Donald Trump blamed Ukraine for the war, described Zelenskyy as a "dictator without elections", and suggested that Russia should be invited back into the G7.

The US envoys have objected to the phrase "Russian aggression" and similar descriptions that have been used by G7 leaders since 2022 to describe the conflict, the western officials said.

The Trump administration's insistence on softening the language reflects a broader shift in US policy to describe the war as the "Ukraine conflict", said two people familiar with the matter.

Recent statements from the US Department of State use similar wording, including a readout from secretary of state Marco Rubio's meeting with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in Riyadh that twice mentions "the conflict in Ukraine".
