Renault saying they are looking for a partner and not just an engine customer. If Haas has any intention in staying in Formula 1 it should talk to Renault. They are going nowhere fast with their existing partnership with Ferrari.

Makes sense why McLaren are switching to Mercedes now. They didn't want to share info and resources with Renault long term. But in the other hand, if there is a budget cap, should teams not partner up on some parts to save cost.

Next year is going to interesting, Vettel and Riccardo getting their hands on Mercedes engines and both will be up against competitive young team members in Lando and Stroll. Returning Alonso in an ever-improving Renault.

I feel like Carlos Sainz is really drawing a short straw, for a year anyway.

It's still a great career move for Sainz, nevertheless. He and Leclerc seem evenly matched - Sainz appears a little less prone to error - so the most interesting contest between teammates will be at Ferrari. It's clear there will be no outright team leader like Vettel, in effect, was.

Sebastian Vettel has finally been confirmed as a driver for the rebranded Aston Martin Racing Formula 1 team for the 2021 season.
If you ignore this season because the Ferrari is crap, Vettel's form and pace has been on a steady decline over the previous 2 to 3 years. Compare it to Hamilton who's form has been as good as it has always been.

Vettel is a great name for Aston Martin to bag but I don't think it will give them the results they expect from a 4-time world champion.

Yeah he's a great signing. He lends legitimacy to the team's ambition to become a winner. I agree that I don't think he will deliver the performances people think he will. There's a notion that he will be "rejuvenated" by his move to Aston Martin. I really think that's just wishful thinking. With that said, Ferrari is probably a poor work environment.

Perez to Williams with Russell losing out is a rumour currently doing the rounds on social media.

And keep the underwhelming Latifi? Surely that can't be accurate?

He's not that far off Russell when it comes to race pace

Which means either Latifi is better than most think, or Russell isn't as good as people think

Russell's qualification pace is good but his race performances have been underwhelming tbh. I'd still be surprised that Williams would drop him.

Russel and Perez would actually be a great lineup for Williams. Latifi and Perez would not!
