A shame to see the Williams family step away. They are one of the more remarkable stories in F1 over its history.

Having said that, I think the good news is that the team stay functional and people keep their jobs, so there is a silver lining to this.

Will the team still be called Williams? I hope so.

Saw a video of an interview with Claire and apparently it will stay as Williams.

The biggest disappointment in all this is that Claire and Frank aren't being allowed to see out the season they started.
When I read that line in the statement where Claire mentioned being appreciative of Dorilton's encouragement to continue I initially thought "Oh that was decent of them", only to next think it was a bit unusual that that line was included at all in her statement. They probably were shown the door alright.

I would give the "Williams" name no more than 4 years. Next year or the year after it will be rebranded "Dorilton* Williams" and after a couple of seasons the "Williams" will be dropped.

*Replace Dorilton with whatever they have already decided to eventually call it.

I don't think we are hearing even a fraction of the story from Ferrari. There must be a complete fallout at the factory with staff not talking to each other etc. It's certainly more than an engine problem.

Last years engine must have been so dodgy that it hid all their other problems. The chickens have come home to roost. Quite similar to Toyota's dodgy turbocharger in their WRC cars in the '90s.

Well, Vettel is so lucky that his breaks failed where they did. Could have easily been the next Ayrton Senna if that as in a different area of the track.

Glad to have an exciting race this year for a change

I'd be interested (although I don't think the findings will be released) as to the cause of Leclerc's run off at parabolica. It looked like he lost the backend, which could have been caused by him hitting the green slippery bit, however, it also could be caused by one of the rear brakes seizing. Given we saw one of the rear wheels (complete with brake assembly) being removed on their own, still smoldering and covered in fire retardant.

Two brake failures on both cars definitely isn't a good look for Ferrari, especially given the safety aspects at a high-speed course like Monza

Sebastian Vettel has finally been confirmed as a driver for the rebranded Aston Martin Racing Formula 1 team for the 2021 season.

Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll targeted the German, who will clearly bring extra attention to the team from the very start under its new manufacturer-backed identity.

The signing of Vettel is another indication of how serious Stroll is about building up the Aston Martin team. A new factory, adjacent to the current facility, is in the planning stages.

"I am pleased to finally share this exciting news about my future," said Vettel. "I'm extremely proud to say that I will become an Aston Martin driver in 2021.

"It's a new adventure for me with a truly legendary car company. I have been impressed with the results the team has achieved this year and I believe the future looks even brighter.

"The energy and commitment of Lawrence to the sport is inspiring and I believe we can build something very special together. I still have so much love for Formula 1 and my only motivation is to race at the front of the grid. To do so with Aston Martin will be a huge privilege."
