What officially is a second wave. It sounds serious and worrying when you read a headline but is it the media just sensationalising it. Like in South Korea is 50 new cases a day a second wave. What will the second wave be in Scotland/UK that keeps getting mentioned? How many cases per day constitutes a second wave?

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tells MPs that restaurants, pubs and hairdressers will reopen in England from 4 July. Mr Johnson says 2m distancing rule is being reduced to 1m plus. Cinemas, museums and other attractions will also reopen, but not "close proximity" venues like indoor gyms.
Back on the other side of the Atlantic ocean we in Nova Scotia have no known active cases now, and had no active cases for two weeks straight. That's good. But I am concerned now with the spikes in South Korea as they took this seriously from the beginning. Thailand, will be the country to watch though, as they were prepared for this for years.
Does anyone actually believe the Government are still listening to the scientists and the medical experts at this point, like they claim they are doing?
I feel like Nicola Sturgeon is, especially because people like Devi Widhrir keep writing articles that broadly sound like what she says.
Down south no, I think they're just going as quick as they can. Cinemas sound like a terrible idea for example and the fact that scientists have become a rarer sight at the briefings tells a story IMO (and now the briefings are stopping too)

I would tend to agree.
Second wave to me would be like the 1st wave in the sense that everything had to start shutting down again hospitals being overrun etc.

It can't be counted as a second wave until the first wave disappears. Given that there is still a reasonable amount of cases and deaths in the UK being reported, if numbers go back up it will be counted as a new spike, not a second wave. The first wave needs to disappear before a second one starts.

I believe they are. But it will be along the lines of what level of risk they deem acceptable rather than what carries the least/no risk.
I believe it was the European WHO guy from Denmark (I think) who said that every decision made in coming out of lockdown is politically driven. There is no better way to highlight this than looking at the contrasting approaches of Westminster and the Scottish Government.
It is being widely quoted that Boris's announcement at lunchtime brings the four nations back onto the same path.
It was only a day or so ago that Nicola Sturgeon was saying relaxing the 2m rule was "reckless". Today she says she's is "looking at all options".
I said from the start of this that she had little material room for manoeuvre and when big calls are being made, so its been proven.
