BUILD YOUR OWN VIKING LEGEND
Become Eivor, a mighty Viking raider and lead your clan from the harsh shores of Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Explore a beautiful, mysterious open world where you'll face brutal enemies, raid fortresses, build your clan's new settlement, and forge alliances to win glory and earn a place in Valhalla.

England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?

Every choice you make in combat and conversation is another step on the path to greatness.

GROW YOUR SETTLEMENT

Grow and customize your own settlement by recruiting new clan members and building upgradable structures. Get better troops by constructing a barracks, improve your weapons at the blacksmith, discover new customization options with a tattoo parlor, and much more.

While the release date already leaked yesterday, we've got official confirmation now that Valhalla is due to launch this November.

Ubisoft has revealed its roadmap of free content which is being released over the course of the next couple of months.

AC-Valhalla-Fall-Roadmap.jpg

Discovery Tour: Viking Age

The most anticipated new content is that of the Discovery Tour: Viking Age. The Discovery Tours were first released on previous titles Assassin's Creed: Origins, giving fans an in-depth look into Ancient Egypt and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, giving us the wonders of Ancient Greece.

The Discovery Tours have been a big hit not only to fans of Assassin's Creed but history fans throughout the world. Valhalla's Discovery Tour will take players around the Viking Age of England and show the history behind the pillaging era.

Discovery Tour: Viking Age will be released on October 19 for all players. A standalone version is also available for a price of £16.99 for PC users and will be released at a later date for Google Stadia, Luna, Playstation and Xbox players.

Official dates haven't been released for the next two pieces of content in the roadmap. Ubisoft plans to release its next title update, 1.4.0, during the fall of 2021.

Oskoreia Festival

Also in the Fall, another festival will be falling upon Ravensthorpe, The Oskoreia Festival. Again, no additional information has been released detailing what is to come in this festival, but it is believed the festival is based on supernatural Norse mythology which 'celebrates' the Wild Hunt. Not the first time we've seen them in a video game.

The Oskoreia Festival will be a time-sensitive event meaning you'll only have a few weeks to take part in the fun of the spooky festival.

Ubisoft has released a new roadmap for Assassin's Creed Valhalla which provides a look at what to expect for the rest of the season.

The first new bit of content will come next week on November 9. This will come in the form of title update 1.4 and the free Tombs of the Fallen activity.

Also kicking off next week on the 11th and lasting until December 2 is the Oskoreia Festival (mentioned in the post above) which is the Norwegian version of The Wild Hunt. How this will play out in the game remains to be seen.

Another title update will drop in December. Title update 1.4.1 isn't dated, so whether it releases before fall ends is unknown at this time, but it could also be a winter update as the image looks rather snowy.

The last expansion to the game came in August, and it was the Siege of Paris. It came with title update 1.3 and before that, the 1.2 update brought Wrath of the Druids. The third expansion has yet to be announced, and it's possible it could come with update 1.4 since that tends to be a pattern.

There have been datamines that suggest the next expansion is called Dawn of Ragnarok and it will take place in Svartalfheim.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's first full year of release was filled with new content intended to keep players engaged with the story and characters. With the game now heading into its second year, developer Ubisoft has no plans to slow down any time soon. Plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla Year 2 include Dawn of Ragnarok, a new story expansion that will take players to new locations to face new threats, as well as Crossover Stories, which sees the return of a popular franchise character.

Ubisoft announced its Year 2 content plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla earlier today. Dawn of Ragnarok is a major story expansion that will build on the existing narrative of Valhalla, playing further into Norse mythology and Eivor's relationship with the gods. After drinking a potion, Eivor has a vision that they're a Norse god tasked with protecting Asgard. This kicks off a mythical adventure that the developers told me will feature roughly 35 hours of gameplay.

In Dawn of Ragnarok, players will venture to new lands such as Svartalfheim, a Dwarven Kingdom. Here, Eivor will discover Dwarves living in exile. They'll have to seek them out and get their knowledge in order to protect Asgard. Some of the new foes that players will encounter in the expansion include Muspels, as well as more Frost Giants. When players defeat enemies, they'll be able to use their abilities to wield godly new powers. Some of these powers include shapeshifting into ravens for assassination, infusing weapons with ice, teleporting with a bow, and resurrecting killed enemies to fight on player's side.

The other major piece of content coming to Assassin's Creed Valhalla is Crossover Stories. This arc sees Eivor coming face-to-face with none other than Kassandra, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Odyssey. This DLC will be free and adds the "Fated Encounter" mission to Assassin's Creed Valhalla and "Those Who are Treasured" to Odyssey.

Crossover Stories was a collaborative effort between Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal, and will launch on December 14, 2021. Dawn of Ragnarok will be a much more meatier expansion, and is set to arrive on March 10, 2022.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been showing no signs of slowing down its momentum after releasing its Dawn of Ragnarok DLC last month, with the developers sharing more stuff lined up for players to enjoy in the game for April and May.

Ubisoft has revealed a lineup of free content that will be dropping into the game over the coming weeks, starting with the game update 1.5.1 and another Mastery Challenge pack on April 19 (see below), a new time-limited event called Ostara Festival from April 21 to May 12, and game update 1.5.2 and the new Armory arriving in May.

Ubisoft is yet to share the finer details regarding what the new game updates will add, but bug fixes are something to be expected.

Title update 1.5.1 is now live for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla, varying in size from 1.41 GB on PS4 to 12.33 GB on PC. Ubisoft has revealed that Valhalla will get another year of content – aptly named Year Two – and it will include returning festivals, Mastery Challenge Pack 2, an armoury update, and new tombs to explore.

Plus, sometime this summer, The Forgotten Saga will hit Valhalla. This is a new rogue-lite-inspired game mode that takes place in Niflheim. In it, the Daughter of Loki, Hel, is pushing Odin through an endless realm of death. Like any rogue-lite, Odin will die...a lot. You must learn how to overcome waves of enemies, all while growing stronger and using learned skills to advance forward, until you come face to face with Hel herself. The trailer revealed dragons, monsters, plenty of human enemies, and more. An official release date was not revealed but The Forgotten Saga will hit Valhalla sometime this summer and it will be free to all players.

Finally, Ubisoft will release the final episode of Eivor's story as a free chapter to all players near the end of the year.

Giving this a go. Not enjoying it as much as I thought I might. I really liked Odessey. I think I might just stick to playing the main storyline without completing all the side quests. I think I sank about 70 hours into Odessey.

Hoping I can finish this in half the time.
