Assassin's Creed Valhalla
BUILD YOUR OWN VIKING LEGEND
Become Eivor, a mighty Viking raider and lead your clan from the harsh shores of Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Explore a beautiful, mysterious open world where you'll face brutal enemies, raid fortresses, build your clan's new settlement, and forge alliances to win glory and earn a place in Valhalla.

England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?

Features

LEAD EPIC RAIDS

Lead your people in massive assaults against Saxon armies and fortresses, and expand your influence far beyond your settlement's borders. Command a crew of raiders and launch lightning-fast surprise attacks from your longship to claim your enemies' riches for your clan.

VISCERAL COMBAT

Unleash the ruthless fighting style of a Viking warrior and dual-wield axes, swords, or even shields against fierce, relentless foes. Choose your tactics and dismember opponents in close-quarters combat, riddle them with arrows, or assassinate them with your hidden blade.

The advanced RPG mechanics of Assassin's Creed Valhalla give you new ways to grow as a warrior and a leader. Influence the world around you while acquiring new skills and gear to suit your playstyle. Blaze your own path across England by fighting brutal battles and leading fiery raids, or form strategic alliances and triumph by your wits. Every choice you make in combat and conversation is another step on the path to greatness.

GROW YOUR SETTLEMENT

Grow and customize your own settlement by recruiting new clan members and building upgradable structures. Get better troops by constructing a barracks, improve your weapons at the blacksmith, discover new customization options with a tattoo parlor, and much more.

SHARE YOUR CUSTOM RAIDER

Create and customize your own mercenary Vikings to share online, and reap the spoils when they fight alongside your friends in their own sagas. Recruit mercenaries created by other players, and add their strength to your forces.

A DARK AGE OPEN WORLD
Sail across the icy North Sea to discover and conquer the broken kingdoms of England. Immerse yourself in activities like hunting, fishing, dice, and drinking games, or engage in traditional Norse competitions like flyting or, as it's better known, verbally devastating rivals through the art of the Viking rap battle.

The official Assassin's Creed Valhalla release date was revealed during tonight's Ubisoft Forward conference – it's scheduled to launch on November 17, 2020.

While the release date already leaked yesterday, we've got official confirmation now that Valhalla is due to launch this November.

On top of confirming the Assassin's Creed Valhalla release date, Ubisoft Forward offered viewers a look at fresh Valhalla gameplay.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is due to launch for PS4, Xbox One, PC (on both the Epic Games Store and UPlay+), and Google Stadia. It was also confirmed that Valhalla will be a launch title for Xbox Series X and PS5, and that players who purchase the game for current-gen consoles will be able to redeem next-gen copies for free.

You can swap back and forth between the male and female versions of Eivor, seemingly at will. I played most of the demo as the female Eivor. Toward the end of my session I noticed an option to press up on the D-pad while toggling between menus. Doing so let me interface with the Animus and start playing as the male Eivor moments later, complete with new animations and a different voice. The whole thing was seamless, at least in the demo.

This one has taken a step too far into RPG territory for my liking. I hate the mechanic of non-restoring health, looking for items to replenish it. Unless you can regen with a power you unlock, I won't last.

I'll still buy the game, hoping they'll have a "legacy" mode that allows health to regen or something. They might add it back in if fans kick up a fuss, they are pretty good at listening to their audience

Yeah, the whole looting or fishing for items to replenish health seems like an annoyance. The combat doesn't seem to have any weight to it at all except for the last hit of your combo. Grinding for materials to build up settlements sounds like it'll be even worse than upgrading your ship in Odyssey. And the landscape looks pretty dull compared to the sunny tropics of Odyssey which just looked stunning throughout and encouraged exploration.

I'm still interested because of how much I enjoyed Odyssey, but they really haven't sold me at this stage.

I've bought nearly all the Assassin's Creed games with the exception of Origins and Rogue. The last one I played for any length of time was Black Flag and the only one I've played right through is the second one. I haven't even started Unity or AS III yet. I tend to lose interest in them very quickly. I can't see this one being any different even though the Vikings setting interests me.

I'll probably still buy it though when the inevitable Ubisoft price drop occurs.

Looks exactly how I expected it to, which is 100% fine as I really like the direction change they took with Origins.

The Assassin's Creed franchise has always relied on its historical settings. The upcoming game in the series, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, will be no different as you explore the Viking era through the lens of either a male or female version of a mighty warrior named Eivor. But as the franchise has evolved, it's become more open to exploring its fantastical side, with Origins and Odyssey both using mystical creatures and figures in its narrative. It seems Valhalla will be doing that, too, although it'll be a tad more grounded in nature.

The video below highlights the mystical beasts gameplay you'll be experiencing in Valhalla. The enemies in question aren't quite as bold as the Greek gods of Odyssey, for instance, but you'll fight a massive wolf-like creature, as well as three sisters that seem to have fantastical abilities (though they are sneaky there since said abilities could be due to hallucinogens), and six warriors who are followers of a legendary Viking warrior that came to the land before you. These are decidedly more grounded than the mystical beasts we ended up fighting in the last game, but of course, this could just be a taste. And there's always the DLC for things to get truly wild.

A new Assassin's Creed Valhalla trailer has been released, giving you more insight into the story.

In the Assassin's Creed Valhalla trailer, you will see Eivor torn between his duty to his brother and his personal quest for glory. There's also a bit of fighting with the Saxons thrown in for good measure.

Eivor's clan is looking for more in the land of England, as they are driven from Norway by war and dwindling resources. Here, you will come across the Hidden Ones, Saxon kings, and the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok.

You will also become privy to a "mysterious, growing threat" to England's destiny.

The trailer looks interesting, will there be those big battles in it?

What I got bored of in Odyssey and Origins was the repetition. Clear this camp, then this camp, then this camp.
