Just been watching the Man City v Real Madrid game. Cracking game between two sides that are nowhere near the best in Europe this year.

Madrid could have been 2 or 3 ahead before Haaland gave City the lead. Mbappe scored a lucky but deserved equaliser, he actually shinned his volley but it somehow found its way into the net. Haaland then gave City the lead again from the spot after Foden had been fouled just inside the box. I was thinking to myself that this was the best I'd see City play then they capitulated and gave away 2 goals and lost the tie 3-2.

I've said this before but this City team doesn't know how to play football for the full 90 mins. It was the same against PSG, they switched off and gave away goals.

Another victory turned into defeat for City. They won't beat Madrid in the Bernabeu.

Real, minus an entire defence through injury, still won quite easily in the end at the Etihad.

A real indictment of Pep's side.

Celtic lost 2-1 at home against Bayern Munich but they performed much better than I expected. They'll get battered in Munich but still a decent showing by them last night.

What a strike from Olise to give Bayern the lead, great pass from Upamecano as well. No keeper was saving that.

Celtic piled the pressure on when they were 2 goals down and deserved to pull one back.

It will be tough in Germany but they gave a good account of themselves in the first-leg.

Tough loss for Celtic tonight. They were leading Bayern Munich 1-0 on the night which would have taken the tie into extra-time but Bayern snatched an equaliser in the 94th minute to win the tie outright.

It was probably a fair result when you look at the stats, Bayern had double the possession and 23 shots to Celtic's 5 but it is a cruel way to go out.

Celtic had their chances, good chances too, but they sat back and defended after scoring.

Man City are out of the Champions League after losing 3-1 to Real Madrid tonight. They crash out 6-3 on aggregate. They were never in the game, and I don't think they believed they could get a result in Spain - Haaland didn't play, Stones went off injured and Mbappe scored an early goal before going on to complete a hattrick.

Tonight's scores

Borussia Dortmund 0 Sporting CP 0 (Dortmund win 3-0 on agg)
PSG 7 Brest 0 (PSG win 10-0 on agg)
PSV 3 Juventus 1 (PSV win 4-3 on agg)
Real Madrid 3 Man City 1 (Madrid win 6-3 on agg)

PSG and Liverpool are the two strongest teams left in my opinion. Liverpool could make me look silly but this PSG side isn't like the ones of a couple years ago. They are much more balanced and are particularly strong in midfield and out wide. Whoever comes out of that tie is favourite for me.

I'd argue that Real Madrid are the strongest. The Champions League is their tournament and they are getting all their players back at the right time. They also have an unbelievable forward line.
