Stuck my area in to Tier 2 when releasing the latest information on "Tiers".

I think that this virus is here for the long term and we cannot keep everybody locked up until we find a vaccine or treatment.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but it isn't more lockdowns.

I fear we are heading towards a full lockdown again. The numbers of positive cases and deaths are becoming an increasing concern.

I don't think the Tier System that has been announced in England (Nicola Sturgeon is planning one for Scotland too) is the answer but neither is a full lockdown.

15 more deaths in Scotland in the last 24 hours and the First Minister warning people against travelling down south to Blackpool after a rise in infection rates is linked to the seaside town.

If ever there was an argument for closing pubs again then I'm pretty sure this nails it. Utter stupidity.

My neighbour is waiting on results from a Covid test but is almost certain he's got it. He's a fit guy in his late 30s and says it is brutal.

Constant pain - sometimes agonising - in his chest and lungs and struggling to breathe.

It doesn't sound particularly pleasant.

I'm not against taking further restrictions if there are compelling reasons to do so. But here's what really annoys me about the SAGE advice and the modelling they use to produce dubious figures to support a circuit breaker

The authors of the paper, which is in pre-print form and has not yet been peer-reviewed, include Prof Graham Medley from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Prof Matt Keeling and Dr Mike Tildesley from the University of Warwick. They say a circuit break is not a long-term control measure, but would buy time to get the test-and-trace system in better shape.

Is this March or something? They've had SEVEN MONTHS to get a credible track and trace system up and running. In what way is another fortnight going to magically resolve that monumental failure? As soon as you reject that premise then the headline figures don't actually stand up.

There has to be a more valid reason put forward than "oh no give us two weeks we'll get it right this time honest" to justify such measures.

My dad was confirmed positive on Tuesday. Says he is feeling ok at the moment so hopefully continues like that.

"Prepare for a digital Christmas"

Hopefully, we will see an ease in cases and therefore restrictions before Christmas and that won't be the case :(
