Man City have revealed that Erling Haaland will miss between 5 and 7 weeks due to the injury sustained against Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

This effectively rules him out for the rest of the league campaign and will be a blow to City as they try to secure a place in the Top 4.

Ivan Juric has left Southampton after the club's Premier League was confirmed.

"Ivan came to Southampton at a tough time and was tasked with trying to improve a squad in a difficult situation," a statement on Southampton's website read. "Unfortunately, we haven't seen performances progress the way we had hoped, but we would like to thank Ivan and his staff for their honesty and hard work as they fought against the odds to try and keep us up.

"With relegation to the Championship now confirmed, we believe it is important to give fans, players and staff some clarity on the future as we head into a very important summer.

"The process of finding a new manager to lead us as we look to secure an immediate return to the Premier League has now begun and is being led by Group Technical Director Johannes Spors."

Juric replaced Russell Martin in December, signing a contract until June 2026, but won only one of 14 Premier League matches. His tenure lasted just 108 days.

The race for the Champions League places is really heating up now. Liverpool will be declared champions soon, and Arsenal look like they have secured 2nd spot, but with reportedly the Top 5 qualifying for the Champions League next season, this is about as tight as it has ever been.

Ipswich have been relegated, which is the earliest all the relegation places have been decided in the Premier League.

More twists in the race for the Champions League spots this weekend as Man City are held to a goalless draw by bottom of the league Southampton.

Aston Villa beat Bournemouth 1-0 to move within a couple of points of the CL qualification spots and Newcastle have just beaten Chelsea to move above Man City into 3rd place, just a point behind Arsenal who they play next weekend.

Sunderland will be back in the Premier League after an 8-year hiatus.

They left it late, scoring the winner in the 5th minute of stoppage time, to beat Sheffield United 2-1 at Wembley in the playoff final.

So, the European spots were decided on a dramatic last day of the 2024-25 campaign.

Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy while Chelsea, Manchester City, and Newcastle United have qualified for next season's Champions League.

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland did the business for Pep Guardiola's City, while Levi Colwill scored the only goal between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle were beaten 1-0 by Everton, but thanks to Manchester United's home win against 10-man Aston Villa, they will return to the Champions League for the second time in three years.

Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah capped off a brilliant season with his 29th league goal in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
