The post provides valuable information about the 2020 Formula 1 season, including confirmed races and dates, which is relevant to fans. However, it could be more concise and streamlined to enhance clarity and engagement.

Hope some of the fly away races are in the rain. Wish they would rearrange the full season so it starts and then ends in Europe so we got more wet races or at least the need to use inter tyres.
Agreed, hopefully no doubleheaders in bone dry Bahrain or Abu Dhabi, the 2nd races at each of those would be a right snooze fest. Brazil seems to toss up a good share of wet races but doubtful we'll go there given the virus.

Barcelona in the middle of August will be interesting as Ted Kravitz pointed out on his vlog the other day. Will be very hard on tyres and chassis in the heat (for a track which already is tough on blistering), F1 has only ever raced at that track in April/May IIRC.

When you look at that car you can see so many aero bits, turning veins and general faddle-daddles. It's clear to see loads of money is going into those bits that are completely irrelevant to the real world, hinder the cars' performance in turbulent air and must cost a fortune in manhours to design and test all the variations. Massive waste of money.

They're building quali cars designed to be fast in clean air, and then they lose loads of downforce when they try to race and slide about and have to save the tyres. The new rules in 2022 will hopefully limit all that stuff.

F1 races in Azerbaijan, Singapore and Japan cancelled from 2020 schedule due to coronavirus.
Formula 1 has tried to find a way to hold the races in 2020 but announced on Friday that was not possible in the uncertain global situation.

The historic event at Suzuka is off as a result of Japan's ban on many international travellers.

Races in Singapore and Baku cannot be held because the street circuits cannot be built in the current climate.

The cancellations mean F1 has lost a further three key Grand Prix to the Covid-19 crisis that has already claimed the season-opening race in Australia and the blue-riband Monaco event.

Japan and Singapore are two of the most prestigious and popular races on the calendar

I would not say that any of the aero bits that were on that car were a massive waste of money maybe on a McLaren or even Ferrari sometimes as they had no idea what they were doing but on the Mercedes, they knew their stuff most of the time and that 0.2 per cent difference or 0.05 per cent difference might have been the thing that kept Mercedes in front most of the time and getting most of the poles too. Yes, I agree it did get out of hand changing aero bits every season it should have been less but otherwise, it was something to talk about. So what if it was irrelevant to real-world cars we wanted to see the best drivers in cars we can only dream of driving winning not someone in a road car. You can watch rallying or Nascar for that.

Different tyre compounds for the two Silverstone races. That's a clever little way to mix things up a bit.
Pity Austria didn't mix it up also.

Apparently, Imola has renewed their license in the hope of a double Italy event with Monza in the autumn. It's likely we'll get four races in the Middle East with two in Bahrain and two in Abu Dhabi.

However, one of the Bahrain events might be on the outer "oval" circuit

It's unlikely to give a worse race than the normal one.

To be honest, I'm one of the biggest critics of the floodlit circuits as they're all very dull, but I'm just glad they appear to be in a position to give us more races this year.

I'd love to see Imola back on the calendar, even if just as a one-off. Portimão looking like a possibility as well, which could produce some good racing.

Did anyone watch Sky's watchalong of Canada 2011 with Jenson Button? Quite interesting hearing his views on what it was like to drive that day.

What a race it was!

Mental race took about 4 hours to finish IIRC
