Did anyone watch Sky's watchalong of Canada 2011 with Jenson Button? Quite interesting hearing his views on what it was like to drive that day.
Canada 2011 was on YouTube, just watching it now. Forgot just how stupid some of the SC stuff was.

What a race it was!
Arguably the best of the last decade (if you take away the sitting around waiting for action parts).

However, one of the Bahrain events might be on the outer "oval" circuit
I think there'd only be something like 4 proper braking points. Would be one of the fastest races as well.

Read somewhere that lap times will probably be under a minute as well on the outer circuit

This will cause issues on lapped runners but with the massive straights then they can surely be dealt with quite easily, you'd just hope it doesn't interfere too much with the proper front and midfield racing

Well below the minute, it's 3.6km and mostly straights. If they lap 1'03" on the Red Bull Ring, which is 4.3km and has more corners...

It'd be interesting to see if the average lap speed would be higher than Monza - the circuit, in terms of typology, has some points of contact with "old-old" Silverstone, which was a bit faster.

Has anyone seriously proposed the Bahrain outer circuit?

New livery since splitting from Rokit. I still don't get what is going on with Williams. Reports earlier this week reckon that Mercedes is about to sign Rokit as a major sponsor and the reporting of that deal it refers to the cancellation of the Williams deal coming from the team and not the client. I'm pretty sure the formula-e team Susie Wolff is involved with are Rokit backed too.

Sseems like McLaren are really struggling financially.. Got to be a concern for Ricciardo? I mean, he's pretty much burnt his bridges with both Red Bull and Renault..

My first thought was that the situation is being slightly exaggerated - basically secured bondholders 'A' are offering McLaren a loan at X interest rate. Another bond provider is offering a loan at a lower interest rate but wants the assets held by bondholders 'A'.

This is McLaren preferred option but they need bondholders 'A' to release the assets - they won't thus the court case and the urgency and mention of insolvency.

Hopefully it is an exaggeration.

Since we're now seeing quite a few teams with financial difficulties

If a couple of them were lost, could we see teams fielding 3 drivers? It could be the only way to keep numbers on the field
