If Vettel gets the Mercedes drive it'll be for one or two seasons max. Then Russell will get the nod, don't see Ocon getting a Mercedes seat now.

I would definitely agree given Russell's activity over the covid period and expanding his personal brand with sim racing has given him an advantage. I think that did his career wonders.

I think Ocon's main competitor in Formula1 is still Russell and if he can prove himself against Daniel Ricciardo and Alonso next year then he'll position himself nicely.

George Russel has a rookie to show himself against, so he really needs to be beating better teams. That's probably a lot more difficult for him to do at Williams.

Agreed! The boy can race well in the virtual world, no question about that.

In reality, impossible to judge him, Kubica was his teammate last year after a 9 year absence and a permanent disability, Latifi is a rookie who I see as F1's next Sirorkin, he'll vanish off the face of the grid before his time unless done one else picks him up

Two more races to the developing 2020 calendar - including a debut for Italy's Mugello circuit to mark Ferrari's 1000th race.

Mugello in Tuscany will follow the Italian GP at Monza, on September 11-13, with the Russian GP in Sochi confirmed for its original slot of September 25-27.

It means there are now 10 confirmed dates, with F1 still working towards a schedule of between 15 and 18 races to conclude in December.

"We are delighted to announce Mugello and Sochi will be part of the 2020 calendar and want to thank all our partners for their support in recent weeks," said F1 chairman Chase Carey.

"We had great start to our season in Austria last weekend and we are increasingly confident in our plans to race throughout the remainder of 2020.

"The Russian Grand Prix is major moment in our season and we are looking forward to being back in Sochi in September. We are equally excited to see Formula 1 race for the first time at Mugello, an occasion that will mark Ferrari's 1000 Grand Prix.

"Both races will be a huge boost for fans with more announcements on the next races in our calendar coming in the weeks ahead."

Think the drivers that have been to Mugello in the lower classes have loved driving there.

There were some wild rumours that Giovonazzi would drive the next race for Ferrari in place of Vettel. Probably extremely unlikely.

Drivers are required to self isolate in place between races. And are required to not leave their "bubble" which is typically their trainer and a friend or girlfriend. Many countries are making exceptions to their quarantine rules to allow F1 to go ahead on this basis.

LeClerc and Bottas have both flown to Monaco this week, the only drivers believed to have left Austria.

Leclerc was pictured in Monaco with his arms around fans taking selfies, not wearing a mask and not social distancing.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc has escaped with a warning after breaking Formula One's strict Covid-19 protocols.

All F1 personnel are required to remain within their so-called bubbles between races as a precaution against the virus.

But a picture of the 22-year-old Leclerc posing with a waiter at a Monte Carlo restaurant this week emerged on social media.

An FIA spokesperson told the PA news agency: "Ferrari have been issued with a reminder and warned that any further breaches of the Covid-19 code of conduct could be referred to the stewards."

Leclerc was found to have breached Article 3.14 of the code, which reads: "Any time outside the venue during a covered event or between covered events must be spent with other members of the same group, keeping interaction with persons outside that group to a minimum."

I'm a fan of LeClerc, and as much as I want to see him race, I have to agree. Bloody stupid carry on.

Vettel has confirmed he is talking to Renault about 2021. Alonso and Vettel in the same team would be amazing to see.

Alonso said what got him thinking about returning to F1 was an offer from Aston Martin for 2021. Which indicates they are willing to buy out Perez's contact or drop Stroll for the right driver.

I'm still hoping for Vettel to get a Mercedes drive and Bottas to Aston Martin. It will never happen but would be great to see.
