The Las Vegas Raiders fired coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler late Tuesday night, the team announced. Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce will assume the role of interim head coach.

The Raiders are 3-5 this season and 9-16 since McDaniels took over in 2022. They have failed to score more than 19 points on offense in a game this season.

McDaniels was given a six-year contract by the Raiders in 2022 and Las Vegas are obligated to pay the four-plus years remaining on the deal.

The Raiders also announced they are promoting assistant general manager Champ Kelly to interim general manager. The team said it is "committed to undergo a comprehensive search for a general manager once the season is complete."

Right after the trade deadline, when they could've (should've) gone full rebuild mode beforehand… But the right decision nonetheless, even if it should've been made sooner.

I'm not sure what the Raiders were thinking when they signed McDaniels to a 6-year deal. He should've been blacklisted from the head coaching ranks after that stunt he pulled with the Colts following his disastrous stint with the Broncos. What did the Raiders see in him in the first place? This needs to be his final NFL head coaching stint.

I like McDaniels as an OC, but after two failed stints, it appears he's not a very good HC.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back in New England.

Raiders need to get their next HC pick right and start giving out sensible contracts - Gruden was on a 10 year deal if memory serves me correctly and McDaniels on 6?!

He's a great coach but he's not at HC level. 6 months before he's back at the Patriots.

Standard Steelers win on Thursday night. The offencse struggle to get even first downs, Pickett's accuracy is all over the place but the defense keeps them in the game until Pickett turns into Tom Brady in the 4th quarter gets a touchdown and then the defense win the game with an end one interception.

How the Steelers are 5-3 I don't know.

Will Levis for the Titans looked the real deal again despite that game ending pick.

Not going to complain that potentially the best game of the season so far has an afternoon start. The atmosphere in Germany is amazing.

You get the feeling the Chiefs are up for this after losing to the Broncos last week. Impressive first drive and defense from them.

I think they have the best offense in the NFL at the minute
