Crazy to think we are talking about sacking Frank Lampard. Chelsea are only 5 points off Liverpool.
That's what Abramovich does. And just to clarify, 5 points off a Liverpool team playing their worst football in years.

Man City and Leicester both dealt injury blows today to significant players. Kevin De Bruyne will miss between 4 and 6 weeks. For Leicester, Jamie Vardy will be missing for "some weeks"

It's what he's doing though... or rather, what he's not doing. Seems like hot on the heels of mega signing Kepa losing absolutely all confidence the same is happening with new mega signings Werner and Havertz. The second those deals were done, a big part of Frank's job became making them work. And he just hasn't. Just looking at the teamsheets over a run of games tells you a lot - different attacking lineups from game to game, and we've no idea which one works.

They play alright on the transition into midfield, but when you watch their forwards as the ball is moved from the halfway line forward, they all just run in straight lines, sort of just hoping for something to happen. There's no pattern of play - like Werner cutting in, Chilwell overlapping wide, and Giroud dropping back to pull a defender out of Werner's space. Just random easy stuff like that to give you a passing option - we never really see it with Chelsea. There doesn't look like much of a plan when they're driving forward. They do alright when they can camp out around a box, or if the defence makes a mistake that lets them in, but when they have to do something in regular play it's all very staid.

Leicester are a real likeable club. Make a lot of shrewd signings.

Looking at the upcoming fixtures when doing my pickem selections, Man United could well create a gap at the top as all their fixtures are very winnable - Man City and Liverpool play each other so at least one of them is going to drop some points.

Wow, West Ham are currently sitting 4th in the Premier League! Albeit they have played more games than the teams around them but what a fantastic achievement.

Just goes to show how strange a season this has been - any team can beat any other team.

Sad to see reports of Man Utd fans turning on their own and racially abusing Martial and Tuanzebe after the game last night.

A statement has now been released by Man United

"Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted by the racial abuse received by players via social media after last night's game. We utterly condemn it and it is encouraging to see other fans condemn this on social media also"

"Manchester United has zero tolerance of any form of racism or discrimination and a long-standing commitment to campaigning against it through our All Red All Equal initiative"

"Identifying these anonymous mindless idiots remains problematic. We urge social media platforms and regulatory authorities to strengthen measures to prevent this kind of behaviour"

Every club, from the smallest to the largest have a scumbag element that supports them, as sure as night follows day that element of society will always exist. The club have made an immediate statement condemning the actions of these individuals, other than ban fans that they discover are ticket holders who abused the players on social media there is not much more they can do on the incident.
