Haas is set to announce that Esteban Ocon will be driving for them in 2025. According to reports, the announcement is expected before the summer break.

Ocon is signing a multi-year contract with the American team.

Alpine is looking to bring in Carlos Sainz as Ocon's replacement, though the current Ferrari driver has several options. If Sainz does not choose Alpine, Jack Doohan is considered the next option to succeed Ocon.

'Ultimatum for Perez, Red Bull look to trigger release clause'

Sergio Perez is having a disappointing season at Red Bull Racing and may lose his seat.

De Telegraaf reported that Perez has been given an ultimatum by the management to improve before the summer break or risk being replaced.

Horner and Perez met before the Silverstone weekend, where Horner emphasised the need for improvement.

Perez has only Hungary and Belgium left to show progress, as he did not perform well at Silverstone.
Despite signing a new contract last month to stay with Red Bull until 2026, a clause allows Red Bull to terminate the contract if needed.

If Perez has more than 100 points less than Verstappen in the World Championship by the summer break, Red Bull could replace him. The current gap is 137 points.

Liam Lawson is a potential replacement, having made a notable debut last year as Daniel Ricciardo's replacement at AlphaTauri (now Visa Cash App RB).

Lawson will drive the RB20 during a Red Bull filming day at Silverstone, though Horner denied that this test is related to Perez's situation, stating it was planned months in advance.

Williams have announced that Carlos Sainz will complete the team's driver line-up for the 2025 season and beyond.

Didn't see this coming, to be honest.

A key factor is the contract flexibility. Williams offers Sainz the option to move to a top team if a seat opens, especially with the new regulations in 2026. This flexibility was crucial for Sainz.

It's staggering that they think its correct to persist with him. He's got to be the worst on the grid at present.

I'd love to see Williams being a top team again.

Franco Colapinto will race alongside Alex Albon for the remainder of the 2024 Formula One season, replacing Logan Sargeant, Williams Racing announced Tuesday.

Sargeant joined the grid last season and only scored one point during his time in F1. Speculation had circled whether a midseason driver change would be possible, but it was renewed after the American driver suffered a heavy crash at Zandvoort last weekend resulting in his car catching on fire.

"To replace a driver midseason is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we believe this gives Williams the best chance to compete for points over the remainder of the season," team boss James Vowles said in a statement. "We have just brought a large upgrade to the car and need to maximize every points-scoring opportunity in a remarkably tight midfield battle."

Vowles added: "This is undoubtedly incredibly tough on Logan, who has given his all throughout his time with Williams, and we want to thank him for all his hard work and positive attitude. Logan remains a talented driver and we will support him to continue his racing career for the future. I know that Franco has great speed and huge potential, and we look forward to seeing what he can do in Formula 1."

Colapinto, who is part of the Williams Racing Driver Academy, made his FP1 debut earlier this year at the British Grand Prix. He spent two successful seasons in Formula Three, finishing ninth in 2022 and fourth last year. The 21-year-old is in his second Formula Two season now and sits sixth in the standings after a single race win and two second-place finishes. Colapinto is the first Argentinian driver to race in F1 since Gaston Mazzacane in 2001.
