Could Cristiano Ronaldo make a dramatic return to Old Trafford? Man United are interested in bringing the Portuguese legend back to the club amid rumours that Juventus wish to reduce their wage bill with Ronaldo reportedly earning around £450k per week.

If he moves, I think he will end up at PSG or back home in Portugal. As good a ayer as he is I don't think he could cut it in the Premier League anymore.

Liverpool have lost another defender after Joe Gomez picked up an injury while on England duty. The club hopes he'll play again this season but it is a blow with Van Dijk already out and Matip the only senior option at centre-back

Gomez has had terrible luck with injuries during his relatively young career. Reports say this one, though serious, doesn't look like ligament damage.

Man City getting beat again. OK, it is Tottenham they are playing but you'd still expect City to beat them. Guardiola has just signed a new contract - can he build a team capable of wining the Premier League again?

Everton back to winning ways this weekend with a 3-2 victory away at Fulham.

I think the league is quite open this year - maybe half a dozen clubs with a genuine chance of challenging. I know it is early but Man City look like they will be battling to make the top 4 instead of the title. Over the past few weeks, Chelsea has started to look like their team is beginning to gel.

Liverpool are still the team to beat. Chelsea could be their main challengers this year and Tottenham will be a solid outfit under Mourinho's guidance. Man United, Man City and Arsenal look well off the pace at the moment so Everton, Wolves and Leicester may be fighting for the final Champions League spot.

Southampton leading Man United 20 at half-time. I have got to admire Southampton. It's just over a year since the 9-0 hammering against Leicester. They could have sacked Hassenhutl then as a knee jerk reaction and I'm sure the majority of their fans wouldn't have protested that. But they stuck with him and are now set to be in the top 4 at the end of the day (if the result stays the same).

Edinson Cavani scores a brace as Man United comeback to win 3-2.

Not sure why Cavani didn't start.
