Steven Gerrard has been officially named the new head coach of Aston Villa!

It will be interesting to see how he does in the Premier League. I thought he did a magnificent job at Rangers.

Interesting shout about Santo. Could be a good fit for Everton.

Benitez has had a lot of injuries to deal with and they didn't really spend any money in the summer so the squad is pretty small and poor other than the first 11 but they are on a poor run and the fans will soon turn against him if things don't improve especially given his Liverpool connection.

Bizarre goal for Arsenal against Man United. De Gea lying injured and the ball ends up in the net. There wasn't a foul, it was an injury inflicted by his teammate.

Never seen anything like that before but I think awarding the goal is the correct decision.

Four of the top 5 clubs played yesterday. They all won thanks to a penalty.

I don't think either the Man City or Man United ones were a handball or foul - not seen what the Liverpool or Chelsea penalties were awarded for.

Midweek Leeds lost 7-0 to Man City.

Today they lost 4-1 to Arsenal.

They are currently 16th in the table, 5 points above the relegation zone but have played 3 more games than Burnley (18th) and one more game than Newcastle and Norwich who are both 6 points behind them. ONly Newcastle have conceded more goals than Leeds.

Are Leeds in danger of going down and is Marcelo Bielsa in danger of the sack?

With Leeds v Aston Villa called off, the Premier League now have 18 games to find new dates for this season.

Burnley have had 4 games postponed and Brighton and Watford both have 3. In Burnley and Watford's cases this could have a massive say in n the relegation battle.
