It seems that the late Sam Neill is set to make an appearance in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, in what could be his final on-screen role. The film has been generating a lot of chatter lately, especially with the announcement of the actor who will portray the notorious antagonist, Ganondorf. While details about the plot remain under wraps, the inclusion of Sam Neill adds a poignant touch to the project, considering his recent passing. Fans of both Neill and the Zelda franchise are eager to see how his character will fit into this iconic world. The anticipation is palpable as we await more information about the film's release and the roles of other cast members.

In the world of extraction games, balancing thrilling escapes with the potential for crushing disappointment is key to creating tension. Mistfall Hunter sets itself apart by softening the genre's usual harsh edges, ensuring that even when players face setbacks, they still contribute to long-term progression. At first, the game feels quite approachable, but as you delve deeper into its gloomy atmosphere, a different kind of challenge arises. Progression can become increasingly complex with overlapping systems, and solo players may find themselves nudged toward group play. Interestingly, the loot you earn often doesn't feel rewarding enough to justify the risks you take. Ironically, as you progress, the risk involved seems to lessen, but we'll explore that further in a bit. Despite these quirks, Mistfall Hunter remains an enjoyable extraction RPG. While it does strip away some of the traditional frustrations of the genre, this change may not enhance the overall experience as much as the developers intended. One of the standout features of Mistfall Hunter is its departure from the typical shooting mechanics found in extraction games, opting instead for combat inspired by the Souls series. However, it's not as punishing as FromSoftware's titles, featuring wider hitboxes and a more arcade-like feel with mid-swing repositioning. Combat truly shines in this game, showcasing six unique classes that offer genuinely different playstyles and approaches to battle. For newcomers, the heavy-hitting Mercenary class is an excellent starting point, delivering straightforward hammer swings that can crush opponents in just a few blows. The Withered Knight offers mobility at the cost of raw damage, rewarding players who can maintain frontline pressure. If speed is your game, the Shadowstrix excels with its focus on subterfuge and burst damage. The Sorcerer unleashes devastating area-of-effect magic, while the Blackarrow class provides a medium-to-long-range option for skilled players. Lastly, the Seer class is more suited for group expeditions, as it can feel underwhelming in solo missions. Each class comes equipped with a two-weapon loadout and unique skills, with talent trees that allow players to unlock and enhance their abilities. Additionally, players can mix and match attachable gems and pre-journey tonics to further customise their builds, offering a wide array of resistant, restorative, and passive effects. For example, the Shadowstrix can be tailored into a relentless attacker by selecting shorter cooldowns and reduced stamina usage. This extensive customisation not only encourages creativity but also presents a variety of challenges to face in battle. As a result, PvP skirmishes can become surprisingly drawn out. One of the common frustrations in extraction games is getting shot from a distance before you even have a chance to react. Mistfall Hunter attempts to mitigate this by providing a more engaging combat experience. Mistfall Hunter offers a fresh perspective on the extraction genre with its unique combat mechanics and class systems. While it has its flaws, it remains a fun and engaging experience for players looking to explore a different take on the genre.
Ubisoft is stirring up some excitement with news about the next Ghost Recon game! Irina-Gabriela Popa, the live producer, has shared that they're aiming for "a fun, fresh experience" while keeping the core elements that fans love. We're talking tactical action, large-scale operations, and credible military storytelling, all centred around the iconic Ghost Unit. Alongside this announcement, Ubisoft is rolling out a significant update for Ghost Recon Wildlands. This update promises to enhance the gameplay experience, so it's definitely worth checking out if you're still diving into Wildlands. As a major free update, Last Rites refreshes the gameplay experience of Ghost Recon Wildlands, delivering a new story-driven mission in which the Ghosts must face off against a new antagonist, La Llorona, and her fanatic cult followers, Los Penitentes. They have nothing to lose, and they're wreaking havoc in Bolivia as La Llorona enacts revenge on those who have wronged her. It also marks the return of the challenging hunt for the iconic Predator. Finally, Last Rites brings a host of new community-driven gameplay updates designed to give players more in-game freedom than ever before. Ubisoft has launched a new Insider Program for Ghost Recon as it asks players to help it test the next game in the series. The company officially confirmed during its Ghost Recon 25th anniversary presentation that a new Ghost Recon is in development, then announced the launch of the Ghost Recon Insider Program. "For the past few years, we've been building the next chapter of Ghost Recon," live producer Irina-Gabriela Popa said during the presentation. "I'm really excited to share with you that now we're ready to put it to the test. "Because we want to deliver a fun, fresh experience that stays true to everything that defines Ghost Recon – tactical action, large-scale operations, credible military storytelling and, of course, the Ghost Unit." "To do it, we need your help", senior community developer Pierre Vincent added. "You can join our Insider Program, and what it means is you'll get early access to our Closed Tests. "Your feedback will help us balance, optimise and fine-tune the experience." The company has also launched a series-wide sale, offering discounts of up to 95% on previous Ghost Recon titles to celebrate the series' 25th anniversary. As part of this sale, however, players can claim Ghost Recon: Future Solider for free on the Ubisoft Connect store, an offer that will last until August 13. Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also be free to play on consoles and PC from today until August 10, but this will only be a limited free play period. The Future Solider offer allows players to keep the game. "If you're enjoying the free weekend ride and want to see your mission through in Wildlands or Breakpoint, or you want to recon some of the Ghost's past campaigns in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier or the original Ghost Recon, those games are on sale now for up to 95% across all platforms – Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft Connect and Steam," Ubisoft senior editorial communications manager Chris Watters said during Ubisoft's Ghost Recon 25th anniversary presentation.

New Paul Greengrass directed film about the Peasant's Revolt. Not going to lie, this was red meat for the boys when it came on as a trailer prior to the Odyssey. It looks fantastic (will probably be panned, now I've created a thread). I'm hoping that this is a resurgence of films set in this time period, but significantly improved. Very much looking forward to it.

The term "maxxing" has started appearing more and more in nutrition and fitness conversations. The idea is fairly simple: focus on one specific food, nutrient, or eating habit and try to increase it in your daily routine. Examples include proteinmaxxing, where people aim to increase their protein intake, fibremaxxing, where the focus is on eating more fibre-rich foods, or even more specific trends like sardinemaxxing and livermaxxing, which involve regularly including particular nutrient-dense foods. At first glance, this approach seems positive because it encourages people to pay more attention to their nutrition. Many people genuinely do have gaps in their diets, whether that's not eating enough protein, not getting enough fibre, or relying too heavily on processed foods. The issue is that nutrition rarely comes down to one single thing. While increasing a certain nutrient can be beneficial, taking it to an extreme can sometimes create new problems. A diet that revolves around one "perfect" food or nutrient can become restrictive, repetitive, and difficult to maintain. Whole-foodmaxxing is one version that has gained popularity, encouraging people to eat more fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts, and minimally processed foods. This can be a great foundation, but it still needs flexibility. Frozen vegetables, canned beans, and convenient options can absolutely fit into a healthy lifestyle. Proteinmaxxing is another popular trend, especially among people who strength train or want to improve body composition. Protein is important for muscle repair, recovery, and overall health, but increasing protein should not mean pushing out other important foods like carbohydrates, fibre-rich foods, and healthy fats. Other trends, such as increasing iron-rich foods or adding nutrient-dense options like sardines and liver, can also have benefits, but they are not magic solutions. A balanced diet can be built in many different ways. The biggest question is whether maxxing helps people become more aware of their nutrition or whether it creates another set of rules to follow. Has anyone tried focusing on increasing a specific nutrient or food? Did it improve your eating habits, or did it feel like another diet trend to keep up with?

Ubisoft has rolled out a fresh update for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, packed with exciting features and essential bug fixes that players have been eagerly awaiting. One of the standout additions is the ability to hide the blowpipe from Edward Kenway's character model, which many fans have requested. The update varies in size depending on the platform: it's a hefty 15.2 GB for Xbox Series X/S, 2.03 GB for PS5, 3.7 GB for PC, and 1.8 GB for the Steam version. To help players navigate this new feature, Ubisoft has even released a tutorial video, which you can find below. In addition to the blowpipe feature, this patch addresses a range of bugs and enhances gameplay. Notable improvements include: Increased the number of autosave slots from 5 to 10, allowing players to load earlier progressions more easily. Fixed a PC issue where cutscenes could be locked at 30 FPS when using custom graphics settings. Added a missing tutorial on how to 'Throw Money'. Resolved issues with DLC Pack notifications appearing at the start of new games. Fixed various gameplay glitches, including problems with parkour mechanics and NPC behaviour. Game director Richard Knight has previously hinted at ongoing support for the game, suggesting that while he can't make any promises, a year-long support plan "doesn't feel like a crazy bet." He acknowledged the pain that bugs can cause and expressed the team's commitment to improving the game's quality of life. [/SPOILER]

I watched it on Prime Video. I loved it! I read the book some time ago and didn't remember much until I started watching the movie. I didn't remember the end, which is good because I hate spoilers! It is long and a bit slow to get going, but it is such a great story. It is lighthearted, funny at times, and exciting.
