I think Man City will do well. Obviously, Pep is a great coach but I think the team could thrive this season if Maresca plays a settled 11 without too many changes each week.

I think Newcastle will be in the relegation mix this season, they will probably be the "big team" that struggles most.

Watching the Newcastle and Aston Villa squads being decimated this summer, and seeing Everton, Forest and Wolves being penalised previously, PSR has been a disaster for Premier League equality. I understand the cartel clubs voting it in, but why did the rest?
Bingo
The domestic football season is over for another year, and many players are preparing for the World Cup. Managers, old and new, will be assessing their squads and making plans for the transfer window and beyond. Scouts will be looking at players, the media will be speculating, and some players will see their valuations rise on the back of a good World Cup.

Discuss the latest rumours and gossip surrounding a player on the move or who could potentially be switching clubs as we head towards the 2026-27 football season.

Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected a £50million bid from Liverpool for winger Yankuba Minteh.

The 22-year-old is currently recovering from surgery on a right leg injury sustained in a 3-0 friendly win at home to Roma earlier this month.

Minteh is expected to be out of action for another eight weeks, but sources with knowledge of the matter say he is keen on the potential move if the clubs can agree a fee.

Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement to sign winger Savinho from Manchester City for a hefty £75 million. This deal also includes an additional £10 million in potential add-ons, making it a significant investment for the Spurs.

I think Man City will be delighted to receive that amount for a player that hasn't produced the expected quality often enough.

Ezri Konsa has completed a move to Arsenal from Aston Villa in a deal worth £51 million plus £4m in potential add-ons.

The England international has signed a four-year contract with the option of a further year, having undergone a medical with the north London club.

For the first time in franchise history, players will have the opportunity to dive into a campaign mission during the beta phase! This is a significant shift for the series, which has traditionally kept campaign content separate from beta testing.

Activision has recently unveiled a wealth of details about the beta, which is set to kick off this Friday. The official Call of Duty X account shared a comprehensive image outlining all the content that players can expect to access. It looks like there's a lot more to explore than many of us anticipated!

Alongside the aforementioned campaign mission, the first weekend includes five 6v6 multiplayer maps: Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, and Lotus. On those maps, you can expect Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search & Destroy, as well as the new and yet-unrevealed Inflation game mode. The recently revealed Kill Block mode is part of the first session in both its 3v3 and 10v10 variants, too.

Luckily for players who don't want to pre-order to play the early-access portion of the beta, the open portion is more exciting, as it includes new content on top of what's available in the first weekend. The second takes place 28th August - 1st September on the same platforms, now with the addition of Nintendo Switch 2 - another first for Call of Duty.

The chief addition in terms of what's playable is Warzone's upcoming Resurgence map Zodiac, which has been teased but never officially detailed. It's still not clear whether the updated version of the free-to-play battle royale mode launches alongside Modern Warfare 4 in October or later in the year.

This beta is shaping up to be a unique experience, blending the thrill of multiplayer with a taste of the campaign.

A new report by Socket shows that more than 50,000 Chrome users are using fake VPNs that steal their data. In the world of online security, VPNs are often the tool many users turn to. They help direct your internet traffic through a secure, encrypted channel, preventing your metadata from spilling out into the open. However, the key to this arrangement is trust; if the VPN itself is compromised, you might be trading one set of risks for a guaranteed breach.

Recently, a concerning report from Socket revealed that over 700 fake VPN apps have infiltrated the Chrome Web Store. These extensions, some free and others paid, often masquerade as legitimate services from well-known cybersecurity providers, enticing users into granting them unrestricted access to their networks and browsing activities.

Socket's analysis focused on 737 dubious Chrome extensions claiming to offer VPN and SOCKS5 proxy services. Alarmingly, they discovered that many of these apps were selling access to non-existent VPN servers, tracking users' online activities by hijacking their proxy settings, and impersonating reputable VPN brands like NordVPN and Surfshark.

The cybersecurity team at Socket, which also offers tools for developers to analyse AI-generated code for malicious behaviour, found that these extensions were published by just 40 developer accounts and had amassed a staggering 75,486 installs. They conducted a detailed examination of 525 of these extensions, revealing some troubling findings:
  • Plagiarism: A significant 274 out of the 525 extensions copied branding and logos from 66 established VPN platforms, including Proton VPN, Surfshark, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, and TunnelBear.
  • Impersonation: Two extensions specifically mimicked AmneziaVPN and AntiZapret, which are commonly used to bypass internet censorship.
  • Security Flaws: The extensions directed all traffic through a fixed SOCKS5 proxy without offering split tunnelling or per-site controls, meaning all your online activities would be routed through the same server.
Since you can't rely on app store review processes alone, you need some way to spot fake extensions before they embed spyware into your browser. You can't be expected to reverse-engineer every extension's manifest file like Socket did, but thankfully you don't have to, because there are easier ways to tell if something might be amiss.
  • Install extensions by following a link directly from the VPN provider's official website, not the search bar on the Web Store or Google Play.
  • Always read reviews before installing a new browser extension. If too many people are complaining about security concerns, avoid it.
  • Before you install a Chrome Web Store extension, look past the app listing and user reviews to the developer account tied to that app as well. Check if the account is officially associated with the VPN provider and see if Web Store reviews flag security concerns on their other apps too.
  • Use a tool like WhatIsMyIPAddress.com to check your currently visible IP address. Confirm that it matches the IP address displayed in your VPN extension's UI.
  • Run a DNS leak check while your VPN is on to make sure that it's working properly, not merely concealing your IP address but also encrypting your DNS queries. If either your IP address, general location, or internet service provider (ISP) shows up in the test results, that's a red flag.

While scammers leaning into the allure of playing GTA 6 as part of their efforts to spread malware isn't anything new - cybersecurity companies have been issuing warnings about it for months - there appears to have been an uptick in such behaviour following the latest GTA 6 leak. With speculation rampant as to what exactly the hackers known as Cyberleek may have access to, now is not the time to be downloading any files claiming to be GTA 6.

It seems that these less-than-reputable folks are trying to cash in on the excitement surrounding the game by spreading malware disguised as downloads. If you come across files with names like "totallylegitgta6leakedbuild.exe," it's best to steer clear.

What's Happening?
Users on ResetEra and VPN service NordVPN, the latter of whom obviously have a vested interest in convincing people to think about taking more action to secure their PCs and browsing, claim to have observed an uptick in download links to alleged GTA 6 builds on piracy and torrenting sites. Because misinformation just piles atop misinformation nowadays, it also appears that one of the alleged dodgy GTA 6 leaked build listings being circulated on social media could just be a faked screenshot.

Why You Should Be Cautious
Here are a few reasons to think twice before hitting that download button:
  • Increased Scamming Activity: With the buzz around GTA 6, scammers are more active than ever.
  • Malware Risks: Downloading these files can lead to serious security issues for your device.
  • Unverified Sources: Many of these downloads are from dubious sites, so you can't trust their legitimacy.
It's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to your online security.

Xbox Series X|S, PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 5 Bit Reactor Aug 2026
A fresh gameplay trailer has just been released, giving us a closer look at the game's engaging turn-based battles. If you're a fan of strategy and tactics, this one is definitely worth checking out!

In this showcase, we start to understand what Bit Reactor meant when they said they wouldn't sacrifice elegance for depth. The gameplay offers a plethora of ways to gain an Advantage in combat, which can be built up to unleash powerful Ultimate attacks. However, timing is crucial since Advantage is a shared resource among your team. Each character has three Action Points to utilise their unique abilities, making strategic planning essential.

From the starwars.com press release;
Star Wars Zero Company features a gritty and authentic original story set during the twilight of the Clone Wars that puts players in control of Hawks, a former Republic officer who's in charge of an elite squad of cunning operatives. As an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire hailing from across the galaxy, Zero Company must set aside their differences to take on an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.
Here are some snippets from the developer panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan:
  • Despite being a TBS game, they want it to feel cinematic and immersive
  • Some characters have been authored specifically for the game but are still customisable, but other squad members will be fully customisable (species, class, voice, name etc)
  • "You're always free to create, recruit, and deploy a full squad of entirely custom heroes if you want to" (even a squad full of repair droids, apparently)
  • Permadeath/no save on higher difficulties. Permadeath even applies to authored characters and their deaths will affect how certain story elements will play out
  • Squad members will have different opinions and viewpoints, but bonds between characters can strengthen and thus unlock new squad abilities e.g. "teamwork reaction shots"
The authored player characters include:
  • Hawks, disgraced Republic officer now in charge of the squad
  • Trick, a clone trooper
  • Luco Bronc, anti-Republic sniper
  • Cly Kullervo, Mandalorian gunslinger
  • Tel-Rea Vokoss, Jedi Padawan
It's not out until next year but given that Bit Reactor is made up of a lot of former Firaxis people, there are reasons for XCOM fans to be optimistic about this. Of course, given that EA are publishing, there's plenty of potential for disappointment too.

Does anyone else play this online game?

I've been playing for about a week and am hooked, apparently, it's gone viral in a short space of time. Well worth a look if you like something that has you scratching your head and you have a few minutes to spare or to play during a coffee break.
