Mike Mayock fired by the Raiders, I guess that means Rich Bisaccia isn't getting the full-time gig either.

Sean Payton is stepping down as the Saints head coach.

Payton, 58, has been the Saints' head coach for the past 16 seasons, highlighted by a Super Bowl win in 2010. New Orleans barely missed the playoffs after finishing 9-8 this season while starting four different quarterbacks at some point due to injuries.

Payton's status with the team had been a recent topic of discussion and owner Gayle Benson's comments Monday added more fuel to that uncertainty. When asked whether the longtime coach would return for the 2022 season, Benson responded with "We'll find out soon enough, I guess. I don't think any of us know. But he'll let us know soon enough."

Payton is not necessarily retiring and could potentially return to coaching down the line.

Didn't see this coming, but honestly, the Saints are in a terrible place right now with little or no cap space to work with, questions at the QB position, and now in need of a new head coach.

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the Browns' vice president of player personnel, has been hired as the Vikings' new general manager.

Denver has hired Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach.

Ex-Colts DC, Matt Eberflus is going to be the new head coach for the Bears.

Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has decided to stay in Dallas. Six teams had requested interviews with him for their head-coaching vacancies and he was considered a finalist in Denver and Chicago.

The Saints want to speak with Aaron Glenn, who was their defensive backs coach for five years before becoming the Lions' defensive coordinator, and Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen will also be in the mix.

Do we know how much of Green Bay's offense was him and not just LaFleur or Rodgers? It's not like the Jags' 2016-2018 offense was anything worth remembering, as far as I can remember myself.

At the very least they finally get an offensive-minded HC in and there's the obvious link with Rodgers and/or Adams now, so good hire I guess for Denver and their fanbase.

Saints are putting the feelers out for Leftwich. I'd imagine the frontrunner for the job remains Dennis Allen.

Josh McDaniels seems to be a front runner for the Raiders. Has kind of come out of nowhere really, he hasn't even talked of much in this cycle although has been a regular in previous cycles across the board.

The Giants are hiring Buffalo Bills OC Brian Daboll as their next head coach. Daboll reunites with new Giants general manager Joe Schoen, who was with Buffalo as an assistant GM for four seasons before being hired by the Giants

I'd be astounded if Leftwich isn't given an opportunity somewhere.

The Raiders have hired Patriots director of player personnel Dave Ziegler as general manager, the team announced Sunday. Las Vegas has also agreed to contract terms with Josh McDaniels, New England's offensive coordinator, to become their new head coach.
