Starfield
Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity's greatest mystery.

In the year 2330, humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. You will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artefacts throughout the galaxy – and navigate the vast expanse of space in Bethesda Game Studios' biggest and most ambitious game.

Tell Your Story
In Starfield the most important story is the one you tell with your character. Start your journey by customizing your appearance and deciding your Background and Traits. Will you be an experienced explorer, a charming diplomat, a stealthy cyber runner, or something else entirely? The choice is yours. Decide who you will be and what you will become.

Explore Outer Space
Venture through the stars and explore more than 1000 planets. Navigate bustling cities, explore dangerous bases, and traverse wild landscapes. Meet and recruit a memorable cast of characters, join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. A new story or experience is always waiting to be discovered.

Captain the Ship Of Your Dreams
Pilot and command the ship of your dreams. Personalize the look of your ship, modify critical systems including weapons and shields, and assign crew members to provide unique bonuses. In deep space you will engage in high-stakes dogfights, encounter random missions, dock at star stations, and even board and commandeer enemy ships to add to your collection.

Discover, Collect, Build
Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.

Lock and Load
Space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation. Whether you prefer long-range rifles, laser weapons, or demolitions, each weapon type can be modified to complement your playstyle. Zero G environments add a chaotic spectacle to combat, while boost packs give players freedom to maneuver like never before.

Bethesda's space opera Starfield is officially delayed. The game was supposed to appear on November 11, 2022. Instead, it will appear in Q1 2023.

Bethesda didn't offer any detailed explanation for the Starfield delay, beyond citing quality control thoughts.

In a statement released via Twitter, the publisher noted that Bethesda Game Studios require more time on their project to make it the "best, most polished" title it can be.

"We can't wait to share our first deep dive into the gameplay for Starfield soon" says Bethesda. Expect that at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, which will take place on June 12.

Starfield needs no introduction. The game sells itself as an entertaining space expedition to "answer humanity's greatest mystery" and marks Bethesda's first new IP in 25 years. To help kill time and make the wait for the game more bearable, why not watch the video below for things we know so far about the Xbox-exclusive Bethesda RPG.

It looks absolutely brilliant. The sheer amount they're showing off here speaks volumes about their confidence too. GOTY potential right here.

Starfield looks fecking great. Like all Bethesda games it will be overhyped and probably buggy on launch but it's going to dominate the gaming market for the next 2 years.

I've got it downloaded, I haven't upgraded so I will have to wait until it comes out to play it although I may upgrade before release.

If you're planning to preload Starfield on PC, be warned: the game weighs in at just under 140 GB.

According to Xbox.com, the Windows PC version of Bethesda's sci-fi role-playing game is approximately 139.84 GB. It's a smaller install on Xbox Series X and S: 126.1 GB.

Starfield preloading started on August 17 on Xbox Series X and S, and Windows PC, well ahead of the official September 6 release date. But Steam users can't preload until August 30. The Starfield Steam page still says players will need 125 GB of available storage space.

It's tempting to get the early access but seems a bit daft when it's one of the best reasons to have Game Pass. Will let the more money than sense crowd iron out the early bugs

I'm preloaded and ready to roll though.

Preloading it right now. Not sure when I'll have the time to play it but at least it will be there and waiting!

I'll be surprised if it's good, I'm expecting mediocre as most of these sci-fi open world types end up being.

Looks so similar to No Man's Sky which I lost interest in very quickly though that game has been updated lots since then!

I'll probably wait a few weeks before jumping in. The nature of these games usually means they're pretty buggy on launch even if the core game is fine.

I'm hearing it's running as well as it could be, "most polished Bethesda game ever launched" is the word going around Twitter/X. Also going by that 30 minute gameplay leak it looks fine, but was running off a SX at 30fps.

Really looking forward to Starfield just wondering whether to lay £20 via Iceland shop to get early access?

Starfield is finally mere days away, and just when you thought the hype couldn't get any bigger, Bethesda turns around and drops a feature that confirms we'll be playing this game forever.

In a recent question and answer session with Reddit, Bethesda's Head of Publishing Pete Hines confirmed that modders will be able to build entire planets and storylines. Given how many planets are already confirmed to appear in Starfield, throwing in a bunch of fan-made creations is going to keep us hooked for an amazingly long time.
