The 1970s was the best decade in terms of growth of wealth for the average worker since WW2 so, in general, that may be the best decade.
I've noticed this too. I've been doing my grocery shopping online since the turn of the year and every week there is notification that at least 2 or 3 items have increased in price between the time I place the order and it is confirmed before delivery (I usually make my order 4 or 5 days in advance).
Just finished the first "proper" day back at work since before Christmas. Good seeing everyone again :)

Yeah, I know a few people from the farming community and there is no shortage of eggs it's that the supermarkets won't pay the price for them.
I don't wear glasses for reading but I do wear them (or contacts) for distances.
Most of my reading is done on a tablet or computer screen and although I can reading perfectly without glasses I do feel the strain on my eyes is more than it would be with paper documents.

I hope this will take off because I want to give people a place to vent about things that aren't particularly going right for them on any particular day, including myself quite a lot of the time.
Today has just been genuinely shit because having received news about the energy cap rise and realising that me and my family will find it extremely difficult (if not impossible) to heat our home this winter.
This thread can hopefully just be a place for people to get things off their chest, whether it's a minor inconvenience spoiling their day, or something particularly nasty happening and wanting a bit of support from the nice people of Idle Chatter who are usually on point for people who are facing serious challenges or issues.
I got my foot trapped on a disused train track when I was little (6 years old). It had to be cut free. I dread to think what could have happened if it was an active line. I've never used a railway crossing since.
I generally agree with the "Forum Promotion / Post Exchange" comment - despite meeting a handful of people from those communities that I'd consider to be friends.. It may seem hypocritical given that I briefly helped with posting packages, but I haven't really returned to those forums beyond 'the job'.
I dislike insects in general.. They don't call 'em creepy crawlies for no reason! 😅

I’ve had smart meters for 5 years and have always been happy with them. The first thing I did when I moved into my present property was to get them installed, as I had them at my previous place.
I'm not always watching it. I refuse to become that obsessed but it is handy especially now prices are rising sharply. I’m sensible anyway regarding energy with just me to think of.
I don’t need to bother with reading meters that’s a big bonus to me.
